We went up to the Tokyo Sky tree. The official name was decided in a nationwide vote, and was announced on 10 June 2008 as "Tokyo Skytree". The name received around 33,000 votes (30%) out of 110,000 cast, with the second most popular name being "Tokyo Edo Tower".[18]
The height of 634 m (2,080 ft) was selected to be easily remembered. The figures 6 (mu), 3 (sa), 4 (shi) stand for "Musashi", an old name for the region where the Tokyo Skytree stands.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMK-gk_PGkhO3aalq6DxZzX3GfowYKjrVOVL25y3VWp5laIC69lV8LcFTFkybVa1dfYqOjNO2YWiRSvp98yNS6nuaxTBrK3OYU-goTEaQbV1Tv2EMzs9XK100UHZ_7Spyk2oksAIrOXznBiN4hZWY5_qGmAUx3U4N78n84ArBNDy_3P9g6Fa5aQ6oLnntl/w480-h640/IMG_8709.HEIC)
