Day11: Part 1 Osaka Castle and the Great Buddha in Nara

In  the morning we all went to  Osaka castle.. The castle was beautiful and imposing; both up close and from far away. It was crazy to see the winning staircases and pathways leading up to the castle.

And although the inside of the castle was renovated into a modern museum, the exhibits really showed the historical significance of the castle. It was a really fun way to experience some Japanese history.

It was a castle but was destroyed in the bombings in 1945 and 1997 it was rebuilt and became a museum dedicated to the history of Osaka castle

In the afternoon, our group went to Nara! There were tons of deer that were walking around which was really cool to see.

First we went to Todaiji Temple.
Todaiji Temple has a huge Budda statue that was amazing. There were also other statues inside.

Another thing that was inside the temple was a hole you can climb through that is the same size as the Budda's nose hole, so some of our group decided to do that.

Then we had free time. There were crackers that we could feed the deer so some people went to do that.

The deer will bow at you in order to get the crackers and would follow you around.

They were very cute!! Some people also went on a trail that was near the Todaiji and found other shrines and temples and also a hidden village! Nara was amazing and everyone had a ton of fun.
Natalie,Eden, Luke and Taniesha visited more temples behind of the Big Buddha
