Amelia :Today, we went to the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima.
The park and museum were constructed in memoriam of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The Atomic Bomb Dome was part of a park holding several monuments to the children, soldiers, and families who lost their lives that day. In one area of the park, millions of colorful paper cranes can be seen hanging in an act of rememberance of Sadako and how important her stories is in the context of bombing victims and the everlasting effects that they face
The museum was full of first-hand recollections of the bombing as well as the days, weeks, and years it continued to affect them.

The museum also held several gutwrenching exhibitions of items and structures resulting from the bombing. Both the museum and the park hold several exhibits and monuments that push the strong message of pursuing world peace and in times of squabble to always remember Hiroshima as an example of the result of atomic and nuclear weapons.
We had a nice group lunch at Japanese restaurant ( Otyoya-Gohan)
