Day 12 Part 2: Meditation at Manpukuji and Kyoto night

                   Manpukuji-Temple

Hazel: Afterward Mt. Inari, we went to a temple to try Zazen, a form of Zen Buddhist meditation. We sat down cross-legged on a cushion and tried to clear our minds.

If we weren't able to stop thinking, we can ask the monk leading the meditation to hit us on the back with a stick to help us focus.

There were two ten-minute sessions, but the time seemed to go by fast!

Finally, we had about 4 hours of free time in Kyoto and were able to see the beautiful lights at Kyoto station.

Zak: Last night we went out to do karaoke with our group for an hour and a half. It was a really fun experience and we’d all like to do it again!

Afterwards we went to view the lights at Kyoto Station and took pictures on the stair lights!

It was really beautiful to see.

After that, we went to go see the water and lights show near the bus stops before we headed back to the inn.
