Day 7: Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya, host family #2

By Payton:

We got up at the hostel at 6:45 AM and went to go eat breakfast around 7:15. After cleaning the hostel rooms we met up at 8:30 and got onto the train on our way to Yoyogi station, switching trains to Harajuku we had to jam into a super packed train, we almost didn't fit, but we all made it.

Now we're on our way to the Meiji Shrine. At the shrine we took some pictures, washed our hands and mouth, and prayed to the Gods. After that we wrote on an ema tablet, hung it near a huge tree, and started our walk to Takeshita street.

[Takeshita street is in famous Harajuku fashion district.] We had an hour of free time to shop around and eat some delicious crepes.

After that we took the train one stop to Shibuya and had two hours of free time. Chenoa and I spent our time at Forever 21 and then we went to McDonalds to eat, there we saw Patience and Cassie.

They went to Book-Off store (second-hand books) and then walked around the rest of the time. Fynn and Luna ate onigiri for lunch and shopped around and explored. Jocelyn, Isabel, Clay and Damaris wandered around and went to the Hatchiko dog statue.

Calvin went to 7-Eleven for lunch and went to BIC-Camera.

After that everyone went back to the hostel to get our stuff and hopped onto the train to Yokohama to meet our next host family.

  1. Wahoo! That adventure looked very awesome! Why wash hands and mouth? I look forward to the tradition explanation when you all get home.

You all looked great at the second school:D Did they have special slippers for you to use while at the school? Neat!
