Day 7 Hakuyo High School (Yokohama) Visit

My best during High School Visit

Leah, Parthan and Gina: Calligraphy Class visit
Tom, Blake and John : English Class group activity
Athena: Group Experiment in Chemistry Class
Cole: Lunch with Senior class

Today we visited a High School in Yokohama called Hakuyo High School. This school is strong for science as we found out!

Our host families came to school with us and gave us a nice Japanese lunch from home!

First we met all teachers. Cole gave a speech and Leah gave her artwork of Memorial High School.

Next we went to two English classes. We talked a lot with the students to interview them and ask questions about our school life. We played "Twenty Questions" to guess three food items, which was lots of fun.

We also met our pen-pals!

Then we did calligraphy class. We all lettered a fan by ourselves! Some of the HS students made us some nice ink drawings.

We on a tour of the school and then went to a Chemistry class where they did demonstrations with Sodium and Potassium reacting with water, and showed how flames can change color from a spray bottle.

The tea ceremony was very interesting to see. We tried to whisk the tea by ourselves.

Last thing we did was visit the Kendo class. Tom, Leah, Gina and Athena decided to try the full equipment and have a short match. Was very fun!
