Day 4 Elementary School day

Today we visited Sakuragawa Elementary School. Nagai-sensei went to this school!

First they gave us a nice grand entrance with flower arches.

We gave our speeches about Wisconsin, Minnesota, and our schools, and we talked about how they compare to Japan.

We heard the fourth grade music class, where they played on their Recorders and we taught them "Itsy Bitsy Spider"!

Then we played a card game with all Japanese letters. We have to find the card that is called out before someone slaps on it! It was very fun.

We also did Calligraphy. It was the first time for Gina and others. They did a good job and nobody spilled the black ink on their clothes!

Lunch was served by students! Even First Grade kids were able to serve lunch by themselves. Some people liked it a lot, but everyone had something they could eat.

Recess was lots of fun. Many kids crowded around the students, and wanted to hold hands with them! It was cute.

Then we had an all-Third-Grade card game tournament!

It was a fun but exhausting time.

Everyone's favorite part of their day:

  • Leah & Athena: Spending time with First Graders
  • Cole & Tom: Recess
  • John, Gina & Parthan: Card game
