Day 3: With Hostfamily - Sunday

Koby 

My host family and I went out to get some fireworks. We then hung out with Brianne and Aisha's host families. Where we ate watermelon and used the fireworks

Eden

Today my host family showed me traditional rice planting in the field outside their house.

we went shopping a bit, came home, and made yakitori on the deck. afterwards we lit some firework

Brianne

Me and my host family relaxed in the morning, then we went to a pig and cat cafè in the afternoon! 

Then in the evening we met up with Koby, Aisha, and their host families and played a game and did fireworks!

Aisha

My family and I did a lot today. In the morning, we played video games. Then in the afternoon, we went to the mall and afterwards we had soba for lunch then did I but more shopping. 

After we got home, my host sister and I put on yukatas and then met up with Koby and Brianne and their families, played a game where we smashed a watermelon and then lit fireworks.

Natalie

My family and I had a busy day. We went to the a local shrine, then the used bookstore and a bonsai garden. Then we went to an onsen and had soba for dinner.

Luke

We went for a walk through a park and then went to an onsen. After that we wrapped up the day with a karaoke session.

Stuart

We went to a haunted house and then ate lunch at home!

We also had a barbecue outside

Kaiden

I went to the railway museum and looked around for a few hours, it was really interesting. We then walked around the city and stopped at a restaurant for lunch.

Taniesha

we had breakfast at a bakery and then before my little host sister's ballet lesson we went to a cat cafe

Ian

I went to go out eat with my host family, drew with the children while waiting for the food, but when the food came I got too excited and forgot to take a photo of the food

Day 2: With Hotfamily -Saturday

  On Saturday we spent time with our host-family. Here are our reports.

Eden

Today I helped my family take care of their kittens by feeding them at lunch. Then we went shopping at the mall and got some food and jewelry

Brianne

I went for a walk with my host family and their dog. The scenery was very beautiful and we even saw a small shrine! We also went to a store and saw some cute kittens!

Ian

I Went on a run with my host family, also played with their cat all day.

Stuart

I played basketball and Smashbro’s with my host families friends. We ate ramen at a popular restaurant

Taniesha

I played with my host family's rabbit and then we went shopping at the mall

Koby

I played many games with my family's kid. One of them was Beyblade. Then I went to a flower arrangement with my host family.

Luke

I went for a long walk through the countryside and also went on a long bike ride. My host family showed me their traditional house and I made a cup out of bamboo.

Natalie

My host sisters and I went shopping at the mall for cheap snacks and craft supplies. When we got home we made mini clay sculptures of each other and took the dog for a walk!

Kaiden

I went to McDonald’s with my host family for lunch and checked out some stores. We also made Takoyaki for dinner

Aisha

My family and I made onigiri in the afternoon. After that I played outside with my host siblings and then we went to the 100 yen store. Later, for dinner, my host mom made a very delicious meal

Day 1: With Hostfamily

  We are going to stay this weekend with our Japanese host-families!

Day 0: We made it to Japan!

         Our first picture of Japan Trip 2024 at Haneda (Tokyo) Airport

Tokyo is sunny and blue sky, but a bit humid. We are looking forward to 20 days of adventure in Japan!

What do you think of your trip so for?

Eden:

The staff at Haneda are so helpful and nice they eased my nerves of going through customs. Japan looked beautiful from the plane

Natalie:

The Toyko airport is a lot bigger than MSP but the staff are nicer. It’s not as hot here as I thought it would be!

Kaden:

I can’t read most of the signs. This place is really big

Koby:

I think that the weather is very nice. Japan is very hot, it is a wonderful change of scenery.

Stuart:

So far Japan is very humid! Seeing the overview of Japan’s landscape from the airplane was really cool.

Luke:

I think that people are super organized and it’s a really pretty country.

   Taniesha:

                             I like warm air. The cars are cute too.

Japan is very clean and the vending machines are so cool! It is pretty warm here, but not too hot.

I think Japan is great everyone seems to be very nice, the weather is as similar to what it would be like in Minnesota.

 Ashia

Everything is very neat and feels more organized than what I’m used to. The people here are very patient and kind too.
