Day 11, Kyoto, Kiyomizu-dera, Mt. Inari, Meditation

From Cheng:

We arrived in Kyoto and dropped off our big luggage at the traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) at which we are staying for the night.

We walked to the bus station and took the bus, then walked a huge hill all the way to the Love Temple and drank the clear mountain water at Kiyomizu-dera.

Our group also went to famous Mt. Inari shrine (with thousands of red-orange gates). One of the most popular sites in Japan.

We climbed up the mountain (very tiring and a lot of leg work needs to be done.)

After the Inari shrine, we took the train to the meditation temple to get an idea on how to meditate.

[Three of us requested getting hit by the monk with his stick.]

Kyoto Tower lit up at night. Tomorrow is free day in Kyoto!
